You’d think that Yaya, a muslim hijabi girl, would simply be brushed aside and only treated as a side character by monsta. But she isn’t.

She’s strong (like STRONG strong), but she doesn’t hesitate to ask for help when she needs it. She cares about her friends and constantly checks on them, especially boboiboy. She’s serious but also likes to joke around.

She isn’t badly treated within the series either. They made sure that yaya is always properly clothed, no tight suits or weird questionable scenes. Her hijab style stays consistent within the series, not a moment where she wears a different style of hijab (like one where your neck is visible). Not even when she’s wearing different outfits.

And not to mention how Yaya ALSO has her own show revolving around japan muslim-friendly tourism (which also was nominated for an award)

I guess what I’m trying to say is, I love yaya so much, and I’m glad that she is given so much love and attention by her creators. You don’t get muslim characters in media that often, especially not ones that are as loved as Yaya.
